ATB EXPANDS FLORIDA OPERATIONS

FORT  LAUDERDALE, January 9, 2013 – Adelson, Testan, Brundo, Novell & Jimenez (ATB), a national law firm focusing on workers’ compensation defense, today announced a significant expansion of its Florida operations with the addition of two experienced attorneys to its Fort Lauderdale office.  The attorneys, Geoffrey C. Curreri and Annie J. Shook, build on the firm’s strong team in the state.

“Our client engagements continue to grow in Florida as more employers seek our assistance with complex workers’ compensation cases and closure initiatives,” said Steven C. Testan, founder and senior managing partner of ATB.  “Geoff and Annie are proven professionals whose extensive litigation experience in venues throughout Florida will make them important members of our team and valuable resources to our clients. We are pleased to welcome them to our firm.”

Mr. Curreri, senior workers' compensation and LHWC Act attorney, has practiced workers’ compensation defense in Florida since 1995. He joins ATB from Hurley, Rogner, Miller, Cox, Waranch & Westcott where he was a senior workers’ compensation attorney.  An accomplished litigator, he has taken many cases to final or evidentiary hearing, ranging from those involving primarily medical issues such as chemical exposure, repetitive trauma, and major contributing cause, to those with factual concerns, including misrepresentation, causality, and subsequent intervening events.  He is a graduate of St. Thomas University School of Law and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Florida Atlantic University.  A Certified Seminar Presenter by the Department of Insurance, Mr. Curreri is working to become a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator, for which his certification is currently pending.  He is a member of both the Middle and Southern Federal District Courts.

Ms. Shook, who joins ATB as an associate attorney, has been practicing workers’ compensation law, representing insurance companies and employers exclusively since 2003.  Previously, she was a workers’ compensation attorney with Miller, Kagan, Rodriguez & Silver.  Her litigation experience encompasses not only the mediation process, having settled hundreds of files, but also at the trial level, prevailing on issues such as major contributing cause, misrepresentation and permanent and total disability.  A member of the American Bar and Miami Dade Bar Associations,  she earned a B.A. degree in Film Studies from Wayne State University and a J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law.
