ATB’s Austin office boosts Hurricane Harvey relief efforts

2018-01-25

Inspired by the work of its Austin-based attorney Elliott Klein, ATB made a $5,000 donation to the Houston Habitat for Humanity to support its extensive recovery work following Hurricane Harvey. Elliott, Of Counsel, ATB, volunteered on a Habitat crew working on flooded homes and presented ATB’s donation to Houston Habitat. He said, “While a great deal has been accomplished, much more needs to be done,” noting that Houston Habitat continues to play a central role in the area’s recovery. Some 30,000 Houston-area homes reportedly were flooded by Hurricane Harvey; 80 percent of them unprotected by flood insurance. Besides providing low-cost housing, Houston Habitat has an ongoing program to help low-income people do needed repairs and renovations. More than 100 Houston Habitat homes were affected by the flooding, and a priority has been to get these clients back on their feet. ATB’s support of Houston Habitat is part of ATB Cares, which involves each of ATB’s 26 offices around the country in community outreach activities.
