Gail Taylor attended California State Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, CA and graduated with a degree in English Literature in 1970. In 1978, after having three children, she returned to school and earned her J.D. from Southern California Institute of Law in 1982.
She spent the first 5 years practicing personal injury law, representing plaintiffs, and doing defense work for the County of San Luis Obispo. She then moved to Workers Compensation where she ran her own practice representing applicants for five years. She then moved to workers compensation defense, which she has done since.
Her education and experience were rounded out by several years working in house for Industrial Indemnity and Fremont Insurance companies, supervising their litigation departments and working closely with the adjustors who had their work stations in the same area. She has been back in private defense practice since 1999 and has been practicing at the Grover Beach WCAB since it was opened in 1989.
